Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders

Agatha Crusty (pronounced Croosty) is a crime novelist. She’s also pretty adept at solving crimes. And when her sister-in-law Alice invites her to spend a few days with her in the village of Chortleby, it’s not long before she gets caught up in a series of murders which seem directed at members of the All Saints Village Hall committee.

There’s an array of suspects, from Toby the Vicar, and Eleanor the Chair of the Village Hall Committee, to Harry Knott the Caretaker and identical twins Olivia and Oliver Truscott-Pratt.  Add into that mix Maisie the Cleaner and the well-meaning Isabella Battersby. And with an investigating officer as incompetent as D.I. Twigg, there are plenty of laughs along the way as the murders begin to pile up and Mandy gets ready to model for the weekly Art Class.

In a departure from previous Summer Productions, Breakaway first performed Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders at St Peter’s Church on Saturday 11 May, 2024, the day before the Church was re-consecrated following renovations. We then moved to the Inn on the Park, for three performances on 23 – 25 May, 2024.
